Total or mostly total intestinal aganglionosis is rare and invariably fatal.
All patients with aganglionosis involving more than half of the small bowel have died with persistent intestinal obstruction and secondary maluntrition and infection.
Recently, we experienced two cases of total colon aganglionosis extending to the middle of the jejunum in triplet.
We report the cases with brief review of literatures. |

Congenital asplenia syndrome is associated with malposition and malformation of other organ
system such as congenital heart disease, patial or complete situs inversus, symmetric lobulation of the
liver and the lung. This is a rare syndrome but has been reported in increaseing frequency in recent
years.
We experienced three cases of this single ventricle with asplenia. One is confirmed by autopsy and
the others are... |

A case of dermatomyositis in a 8-year-old girl is reported. She was admitted with chief complaint
of progressive weakness of four extremities.
The dignosis was made by typical clinical findings with aid of laboratory data and muscle biopsy finding.
Her clinical symptoms and laboratory findings were improved markedly with oral steroid medication and physiotherapy.
A brief review of related literatures has been done.

Without the appropriate treatment, infants bom with transposition of the great arteries rarely
survive the first year of life. But modern aggressive palliative and corrective surgical interventions
can provide such infants with considerable hope for aldolescent and adult life.
In this report, we present one case of a 18-year-old boy having complete D-transposition of the great
arteries with atrial septal defect (S.D.D), who was... |

This experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of anticancer drugs on the
phagocytic function of reticuloendothelial system. The phagocytic activity was assessed by-
means of carbon clearance method, after intravenous injection of vincristine(5 pg or 25 y^g/lOO
gm of body weight) and adriamycin (70 pg or 350 ^g/100 gm of body weight) through one,
two, and three times at the interval of... |

The phagocytic activity was assessed by means of carbon clearance method after intra-muscular adimnistration of phenobarbital(1mg/0.2 ml of normal saline/100 gm of body weight) and intravenous administ-ration of theophylline(1 mg/0.2 ml of normal saline/100 gm of... |

To investigate the developmental changes of human erythrocytes, adult and fetal erythrocyte membranes prepared from adult and cord blood were analyzed in regard to their proteins, glycoproteins, enzyme activities and glucose transport systems. 1. Adult and fetal erythrocyte membranes appeared to have the same major proteins and gl-ycoproteins in the electrophoretic pattern. 2. ATPase activity in adult erythrocyte membranes was... |
